Position: Medical Staff Coordinator

Hours: 8-hour shifts

Location: Harlingen Medical Center – Harlingen, TX

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of provider credentialing, including initial applications, reappointments, proctoring, and competency verification using MD Staff or other credentialing software
• Ensure ongoing compliance with accreditation standards, state and federal regulations, and organizational policies
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date credentialing records within designated credentialing and scheduling systems
• Partner with leadership and clinical teams to support provider onboarding and ensure timely credentialing and scheduling
• Serve as a point of contact for providers and staff, answering credentialing questions and helping resolve issues efficiently

Qualifications

Associates degree preferred or equivalent education/experience.

Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred.

Minimum of 3 years technical/administrative experience, Medical Staff Services Department and/or acute care hospital experience preferred.

Must have strong computer, communication, and writing skills.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Must exhibit a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Knowledge of medical terminology and medical staff services and/or acute care hospital experience, preferred.
